Han Jun pointed out that China is the hometown of tea and the world's largest tea producer, consumer and important exporter. In recent years, we have conscientiously implemented the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and put the high-quality development of the tea industry in a prominent position. The comprehensive benefits of the tea industry have been continuously improved, and its international influence has been continuously enhanced. Last year, China's tea output exceeded 3.7 million tons, accounting for more than half of the world's total. Famous and special tea products continue to emerge, and new tea drinks are booming. China took the lead in deciphering the whole genome code of tea trees, bred a number of diverse tea varieties, popularized and promoted ecological low-carbon technologies, and continuously improved the green level of tea production. At present, China has 23 tea systems selected as China's important agricultural cultural heritage, of which 4 have become global important agricultural cultural heritages. New industries and new formats such as "tea culture + research and study" and "tea culture + health care" continue to emerge, and the long-standing tea culture has been rejuvenated.

Han Jun said that the tea industry and tea culture of various countries in the world have their own characteristics, but also have many commonalities. China is willing to work with all parties to better promote the economic, social and cultural value of tea and help achieve the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. First, work together to promote the exchange and mutual learning of tea culture, deepen and expand the "International Tea Day" series of activities, strengthen the excavation, protection and utilization of tea culture, establish a multi-level cooperation and exchange platform, carry out various forms of tea culture promotion activities, and use tea as a medium to promote the cultural integration of various countries. Second, jointly promote the revitalization and development of the tea industry, carry out tea technology exchanges and cooperation through multiple channels, jointly develop new varieties and new technologies, focus on promoting the sustainable development of the tea industry, the deep integration of tea culture and tourism, strengthen brand building, improve the quality and comprehensive benefits of the development of the tea industry, further release the huge potential of tea consumption, and drive more tea farmers to increase their income and become rich.
