2025-06-07

On June 5, the 2025 "World Accreditation Day" event kicked off with the second China Certification and Accreditation Conference held at the Zhangjiang Science Hall in Shanghai. Luo Wen, Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation, and Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, attended and delivered speeches. Elmano Freitas, Chairman of the International Accreditation Forum, sent a video message. Vice Director Bai Jingyuan of the State Administration for Market Regulation presided over the event.

In his speech, Luo Wen pointed out that certification and accreditation serve as fundamental market economy systems, providing globally recognized credentials for international trade and economic circulation. China remains committed to fostering an open ecosystem of market opportunities, willing to collaborate with all parties to jointly chart a new chapter in certification and accreditation.

Elmano Freitas stated that certification and conformity assessment enhance credibility for SMEs, empowering them to seize market opportunities. China's contributions in conformity assessment and accreditation carry significant weight, elevating the reliability of products and services in global trade.

The conference released 2024 industry data on China's quality certification, inspection, and testing, along with new productivity development standards for certification and accreditation services. It also announced measures to accelerate high-level openness in certification within Shanghai's Pudong New Area. The China Inspection and Testing Society signed a cooperation agreement with the International Conformity Assessment Accreditation Council.

June 9, 2025 marks the 18th World Accreditation Day. The second China Certification and Accreditation Conference, themed "Certification, Inspection, and Testing: Collaborative Development with Supply Chains," featured discussions on three key topics: certification-driven trade facilitation, inspection-empowered new productivity, and SME capacity-building through accreditation. The event established a platform for international exchange, enhancing China's professional services, social influence, and global standing in certification and inspection.

Nan Jing, General Manager of Guohuan Zhang Jibing, was invited to participate in the event.
