Nanjing Guohuan Organic Product Certification Center Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as "Nanjing Guohuan"), established in 1994, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nanjing Environmental Science Research Institute under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. It is China's first organic food certification body and was among the first batch of food and agricultural product certification institutions approved by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA). It has successively obtained accreditation from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), the International Organic Accreditation Service (IOAS) of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), as well as recognition from the EU, Canada, and the U.S. Notably, Nanjing Guohuan's product certification scope is accredited by IOAS (Accreditation No. 40). Nanjing Guohuan has established a European office in Bologna, Italy, and its certification services now cover five continents. The center maintains close collaboration with Italy's renowned certification body BAC, and its issued organic certificates have become globally recognized "passports" for facilitating organic product trade. Certified products can directly enter organic markets in the U.S., EU, Japan, Canada, and Southeast Asia.

Nanjing Guohuan experts have participated in China-EU and China-Thailand governmental organic equivalence negotiations, providing technical support for mutual recognition standards between China-New Zealand and China-Denmark. The center has established extensive partnerships with international organic research institutions including the Rodale Institute (U.S.), the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland), the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and IFOAM.
